Raw House Show Results: 9/23/11
Albuquerque, New Mexico,
Post-match, Miz and Truth came through the crowd and beat down Air Boom. Miz grabbed the mic and said they couldn’t be taken out like that and they were going after the people that wronged them. They were dragged out by security and WWE officials. It was kind of surprising they would push a storyline like this at a house show. People were shocked to see them. Overall, Miz and Truth got a mixed reaction from the crowd. Huge pop when they hit the ring, but the younger fans let them have it when they figured out who they were.

Miz's Parents Speak Out
After sitting live in attendance for their son's firing on Raw SuperShow, The Miz's mom and dad describe their shock in a WWE.com exclusive interview.
CLEVELAND — When WWE COO Triple H fired The Miz and his associate, R-Truth, the entire Quicken Loans Arena crowd was stunned. While many cheered, two native Ohioans were particularly aghast: Mr. and Mrs. Mizanin – The Miz’s parents, who were in attendance Monday night and witnessed their son’s shocking live termination.
“I didn’t expect this at all tonight,” Miz’s distraught father told WWE.com. “I really don’t understand why he got fired and for this to happen here in Cleveland, it’s unbelievable.”
Holding a wilted poster made for the “awesome” former WWE Champion, Mrs. Mizanin echoed her husband’s sentiments in the middle of an emptied arena.
“I think it’s horrible. In front of his hometown, he got fired,” Miz’s mother said. “I was very shocked. My mouth was like ‘wow.’ It’s a horrible, horrible day.”
The Ohio couple argued that the self-proclaimed “most must-see” champion in history must be seen again WWE.
“[WWE COO] Triple H should let bygones be bygones. WWE absolutely needs to reconsider and rehire my son,” Mr. Mizanin explained. “Mike [Miz] draws the people – especially the WWE fans here tonight. I just hope it will be straightened out.” The Miz’s parents aren’t the only ones speaking out about the dismissal of The Awesome One and Truth. In an exclusive WWE.com video, WWE Tag Team Champion Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, Alex Riley, The Bella Twins and others spoke out – very frankly – about the firing of their former fellow Superstars. Watch their comments and Triple H’s Monday night announcement.

After their disrespectful actions the previous evening at Night of Champions, The Miz & R-Truth appeared extremely apologetic as they faced WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H. Not only did the dastardly duo lay their hands on a WWE referee, they attacked Triple H during his match against CM Punk. As punishment, The Game fined them $250,000 apiece, placed each on probation and arranged a main event tag team match pitting them against new WWE Champion John Cena & CM Punk.

WWE RAW Reminder - 19/09/2011
Normandy grad “The Miz” returns to Cleveland tonight
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Countless great athletes have walked the halls of the 18 schools in the Northeast Ohio Conference.
But only one has become the WWE world heavyweight champion.
Normandy graduate Mike “The Miz” Mizanin played baseball and basketball, ran cross country, and swam at the prep level before embarking on an ultra-successful career in sports entertainment.
“Yes, I was an Invader,” Mizanin told SportsInk.com. “Actually, I still am. I’ll always be proud to be one, just like I’ll always be proud to represent Cleveland.”
Mizanin also was the president of Normandy’s student government, served as the senior editor of its yearbook, and earned a spot in the school’s academic honor society.
“I’ve always loved when people tell me I can’t do something because I’ll go right out and prove them wrong, just to spite them,” said Mizanin, who also lived in Brunswick for 2 1/2 years as a youth. “That’s been the case whether I was on (MTV’s) ‘The Real World’ or when I came to WWE and everyone treated me like I didn’t belong here.
“It might not look like it, being on TV and everything, but I’ve had to work hard for everything I’ve accomplished.”
Though WWE fans know the 30-year-old superstar as a cocky villain, the man behind the character is actually an inherently likeable guy.
Those qualities were on display when he recently threw out the first pitch at a Cleveland Indians game and received a warm ovation as a classic “local boy makes good” story.
Mizanin also recalled his high school hardball career when he walked onto the diamond at Progressive Field.
“My baseball coach at Normandy, Marty Kane, taught me to throw right through the plate,” he said, smiling broadly. “That was my goal here, to show everyone that I can still bring it on the mound.”
And that Mizanin did, just as he will tonight as part of the WWE television taping at Quicken Loans Arena. The company’s flagship program — “Monday Night Raw” — will be beamed worldwide from downtown Cleveland beginning at 9 p.m.
It will mark Mizanin’s first appearance at “The Q” since winning the WWE championship, which he did last Nov. 22 in Orlando by defeating Randy Orton. In addition to becoming just the 40th person ever to hold that prize, he retained it in the main event of “WrestleMania 27” on April 3 in front of 71,617 fans in Atlanta.
And though he lost the title late in the spring, Mizanin figures to be the most popular performer tonight in his hometown.
“I hope that’s the case, but I’m kind of wondering how it’s going to happen,” he said. “Maybe when I’m introduced it will be like ‘From Cleveland, Ohio’ — yay — ‘The Miz’ — boo.

Night Of Champions Coverage: 18/09/2011
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz & R-Truth
Miz tells the fans in attendance to listen to the remix of Truth’s song, and he and Truth make their way down to the ring singing ‘You Suck’ the whole way down. Truth and Miz do some goofy posing, and make me hope this tag team will be short-lived. Bourne makes his way out next, followed shortly after by Kingston and the champs make their way to the ring, where they flaunt their belts in front of the challengers and hold them up for the fans.
The bell rings and it looks like Miz and Kingston will be starting things off. Both men lock up and Miz pushes Kingston into the corner, breaking with a head butt. Kofi comes right back with a big right forearm that’s good for a two count. Bourne tags in and goes right to the top. Kofi holds Miz up and Bourne hits a double stomp to Miz’s midsection. Bourne hits Miz with a nasty kick and tags out. Bourne goes to hands and knees and Kofi jumps off his back to hit Miz hard. Miz tags out to Truth who comes in and eats a hip toss. Kofi tags out and helps Bourne hit a hurricarana on Truth before they hit a double dropkick on Miz. Both men go to the top rope and leap out on top of Miz and Truth to a big pop.
Bourne gets a near fall back in the ring, but Truth is quick to come back, laying in with a series of punches to the face. Truth chokes Evan against the middle rope, the distracts the ref so Miz can score a kick to the face, leading to another near fall. Truth hits a big right hand before tagging out to Miz. Miz comes in and runs right into Bourne with a kick to the head that’s good for another near fall. Miz locks in a rear chin lock, but Bourne fights it off right away, kicking out of it, but Bourne goes for a dropkick and Miz avoids it, scoring another two count. Miz tags out to Truth and both men hit a shoulderblock, taking Bourne to the mat for a two count for Truth. Truth locks in a front face lock but Bourne fights it off with a northern lights suplex and both men are down. Bourne crawls toward Kofi and Truth makes the tag, allowing Miz to come in and prevent the tag. Miz lays in with rights to Bourne’s head. Miz kicks at Bourne’s midsection, but Bourne fights back with punches and kicks to Miz. Miz tries for the SCF, but Bourne reverses and scores a tag. Kingston comes in as a house of fire and takes it to Miz. Kingston scores with the boom drop after hitting a big dropkick. Kofi gets the crowd behind him and avoids an ambush from Truth, and hits the SOS on Miz for a near fall.
Truth distracts Kingston and Miz spikes Kofi down into the canvas face first but Kofi is able to kick out at two. Even though there’s no tag Bourne comes in to the match with double knees to Miz’s chest and takes it to Miz, but Miz hits him with a big kick. Bourne rolls up Miz for two and hits Miz and Truth with big kicks. Bourne goes to the top and goes for the shooting star press but Miz moves and Bourne lands on his feet. Miz scores with a sick DDT but Kofi breaks up the pin. Truth makes the tag but the ref doesn’t see it and argues with the referee. Miz hits the SCF and goes for the pin, but the distraction allows Bourne to kick out. Both Miz and Truth look upset. Miz argues with the referee and shoves him to the mat. The referee calls for the bell.
Winners by DQ and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne
Following the match, Miz gets in the referee’s face again, and slaps him down to the mat. Truth pulls him away to calm him down, and picks the ref up, only to slap him across the face as well. Miz and Truth scream at the ref while he crawls from the ring. Miz and Truth are shown walking backstage. They’re interrupted by Matt Striker who reminds them they may be fined. Truth says that wasn’t a ref, it was one of Triple H’s conspirators. Miz says they don’t care what Triple H thinks, and after tonight he may not be the COO.
During the Triple H vs CM Punk match, Miz and Truth ran out and attacked them both. Booker called for somebody to get security. Miz gave Hunter his Skull Crushing Finale. Hunter took it awkwardly. Truth then gave Punk his finisher. Then they dragged Punk on top of Hunter. Miz ordered the ref to make the count. Hunter lifted his shoulder at the last possible second. Miz looked on in disbelief and dismay. He then marched toward ref Scott Armstrong and waved his finger at him for counting too slowly. He shoved him. Armstrong pointed at his ref stripes. Miz shoved him in the face. Armstrong poked Miz in the chest and made threats. Miz swung at him. Armstrong blocked it and punched Miz. The announcers really needed to say that Armstrong is a former pro wrestler to save Miz the loss of credibility from that spot. Miz and Truth attacked Amrstrong and kicked him to the floor at 18:00.
Laurinaitis marched to the ring and waved to the back for someone to follow him. Triple H and Punk got up and cleared the ring. Punk threw Truth over the top rope right onto the ref. Hunter got rid of Miz.
